PRICING & INVESTMENT
How much does wedding photography cost in Los Angeles?
Wedding photography in Los Angeles from an established professional studio typically ranges from $5,000 to $10,000 or more for full-day coverage with a professional team. Studios working regularly at venues like Calamigos Ranch, Greystone Mansion, the Hummingbird Nest Ranch, and Shutters on the Beach tend to fall in the $5,500 to $9,000 range for a full wedding day. At The I Do Photography, full wedding day photography with a two-photographer team starts at $5,500. Most of our couples invest between $6,000 and $9,000 depending on hours of coverage and the scope of their day. Cultural weddings spanning multiple events are quoted separately. If you are not sure what your day requires yet, that is completely fine. We help you figure that out in your consultation.
How much does wedding videography cost in Los Angeles?
Wedding videography is often underestimated because most of the work happens after the day is over. A professional team typically spends 40 to 100 hours in post-production for a single wedding film, on top of the coverage itself. In the Los Angeles market, a professional two-videographer team for a full wedding day typically ranges from $5,000 to $9,000. At The I Do Photography, full wedding day videography with a two-videographer team starts at $5,500. Most of our couples invest between $6,000 and $8,500 depending on coverage hours and the films included. A wedding film is one of the only things from your day you can actually return to and fully re-experience. Most couples who initially considered skipping it are grateful, years later, that they did not.
Do you offer combined photo and video collections?
Yes, and most of our couples choose this path. Our combined full wedding day collection starts at $8,720, which represents a meaningful saving compared to booking photography and videography separately. Most couples with full-day coverage invest between $10,000 and $14,000 for a complete combined collection, with multi-day cultural weddings typically at the higher end. When one team covers both, your photos and films are created from the same perspective and the same approach to your story. The two deliverables feel like they belong together because they were made together. You can find the full breakdown of what each collection includes on our Investment page.
What affects the investment for wedding photography and videography?
Four things drive the final investment more than anything else. Hours of coverage. A six-hour wedding and a ten-hour wedding are fundamentally different jobs. Our most common coverage length is eight hours, which covers everything from getting ready through the first hour of the reception. Six hours tends to work for smaller or simpler celebrations. Multi-day cultural weddings require a separate quote entirely. Team size. One photographer or one videographer covers the day from a single perspective. Two photographers means nothing is missed simultaneously. For weddings with 150 or more guests, multiple ceremony spaces, or parallel events happening at the same time, a two-person team per discipline is not an upgrade. It is a necessity. Cultural and multi-event coverage. Indian, South Asian, Persian, and intercultural weddings in Los Angeles, New York, and Arizona often span several events across multiple days. Each event has its own timeline, its own moments that cannot be recreated, and its own demands on the team. We price these carefully so every event is covered the way it deserves to be. Travel. Weddings in California, New York, and Arizona are part of our standard coverage area. Celebrations beyond four hours from one of our offices are quoted as destination events, with travel included transparently in your proposal.
CULTURAL AND LGBTQ+ WEDDINGS
Do you specialize in Indian wedding photography and videography?
Yes. Indian weddings have been a core part of our work since we started in 2012. We have covered Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Punjabi, and South Indian ceremonies across Los Angeles, Orange County, the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Arizona. We have photographed and filmed Indian weddings at venues including the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, Calamigos Ranch, Maravilla Gardens, Vibiana, and the Langham Pasadena, among many others. We understand the timeline, the rituals, and the key moments specific to each tradition. From the baraat arrival to the antarpat, the pheras, and the vidaai, we plan our coverage so that nothing is missed and no moment is rushed past.
Do you photograph Persian weddings in Los Angeles?
Yes. We have covered Persian weddings throughout Southern California and appreciate the particular richness of these celebrations. The sofreh aghd is one of the most visually layered ceremonies we document, and we approach it with the preparation it deserves. We treat Persian weddings the same way we treat all cultural weddings: with research beforehand and genuine presence on the day.
Do you cover multi-day Indian or South Asian weddings?
Yes, and we plan specifically for them. Whether your celebration includes a mehndi, sangeet, ceremony, and reception across two or three days, we build a coverage plan that follows the full arc of events as one story. We are experienced in managing team logistics across multi-day, multi-location weddings in Los Angeles and beyond, and we work closely with your planner to make sure every day is covered well.
Do you photograph intercultural and mixed-tradition weddings?
Yes. Indian-American, Persian-American, and other intercultural weddings are celebrations where two sets of family traditions are present on the same day. We understand what matters in each and know how to move between them without missing anything from either side. These weddings have been part of our work since 2012 and are some of the most meaningful we document.
Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?
Absolutely. All love is welcome here, without exception. We approach every wedding with the same care, preparation, and genuine investment in telling the story well. Whether you are planning a ceremony in Los Angeles, New York, Arizona, or anywhere in the world, we would be honored to be part of your day.
WHAT IS INCLUDED AND HOW IT WORKS
How many photographers will be at our wedding?
Most of our weddings include a lead photographer and at least one second photographer. For larger celebrations, typically 150 or more guests, or weddings with multiple simultaneous events happening across different spaces, we recommend a minimum of two photographers. Cultural weddings in Los Angeles and beyond almost always benefit from a larger team, given the pace of events, the size of the guest list, and the number of things happening at the same time. We discuss team size during your consultation and build it into your coverage plan from the start.
Can we see a full wedding gallery before booking?
Yes, and we encourage it. A curated highlight selection shows the best moments from a day. A complete gallery shows you how a team works across an entire wedding, including the harder light, the fast-moving family formals, and the quieter emotional moments late in the evening. We are happy to share full galleries from weddings similar to yours during your consultation.
How long until we receive our wedding photos and films?
Photography galleries and wedding films are both delivered within 9 to 12 weeks after your wedding. If you have an upcoming anniversary, a family gathering, or another reason you need your materials sooner, let us know during the planning process, and we will do our best to accommodate it.
Do you travel for weddings outside California?
Yes. We have offices in California, New York, and Arizona, so weddings across those states are part of our standard coverage area with no additional travel fees. We consider a wedding a destination booking when the location is more than four hours from one of our offices. For destination weddings, travel costs are discussed transparently during the quoting process. There are no surprises in your final invoice.
BOOKING AND PROCESS
How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Los Angeles?
For peak season weekends in Los Angeles, which runs roughly from April through October, we recommend reaching out 12 to 18 months in advance. Indian and South Asian weddings tend to book earlier, particularly for multi-day celebrations, because availability fills quickly. If your date is sooner, it is always worth reaching out. We occasionally have openings for closer dates, especially on Fridays and Sundays.
What does the booking process look like?
It starts with an inquiry through our contact page. From there, we schedule a consultation, usually a video call, where we learn about your wedding, walk through what coverage looks like for your specific events, and answer your questions. If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we send a formal proposal. A signed agreement and retainer hold your date.
Do we need an engagement session before the wedding?
We do not require it, but we recommend it, especially if either of you is not fully comfortable in front of a camera. An engagement session gives us the chance to work together before the day that matters most, so you already feel at ease with us when it counts. It also gives your lead photographer a real sense of how you move, how you interact, and what feels natural for the two of you.
What happens if something unexpected comes up on the wedding day?
We arrive at your venue before coverage officially begins to assess the lighting, the setup, the flow of the space, and the atmosphere. This is included as part of our service at no additional charge. It means that by the time your day begins, we already know where the best light falls, how the rooms connect, and where to be. How much buffer we can build into your timeline also depends on how much flexibility your day allows. When we have the opportunity to help plan or review the timeline alongside you and your planner, we make sure there is room for things to shift without anything being lost. We have been doing this since 2012 and have navigated timeline changes, venue delays, and everything in between. Our job is to adapt without you feeling the weight of it.
YOUR PHOTOS AND FILMS
Will we own the rights to our wedding photos and film?
You receive full personal use rights to everything we deliver. You can print, share, frame, and use your images and films however you like for personal purposes. We retain the right to share select work for our portfolio and marketing, which is standard practice in the industry and written clearly in your contract. If you have privacy preferences, we are happy to discuss them before you sign.
Do you deliver RAW or unedited files?
We do not deliver unedited files. Every image and frame of footage we hand over has been fully edited to the standard our work represents. Unedited files require specialized software to process correctly and do not reflect the quality or style of what we do. What you receive is finished, gallery-ready work.
Still have questions? We are happy to talk through them.
